This rubber seal fits into a groove on the bottom of the front timing chain cover of the Ford 1600cc "Kent" engine and seals against the oil pan.
The cork end seals included with our 1.6L Oil Pan Gasket Set (Part No. 164-07) are ideal for use with most aluminum dry sump pans, but steel pans often work better with rubber saddle seals. A small bead in the steel pan compresses this seal and holds it in place. Sold individually; one required per engine (the rear saddle seal, sold separately, is larger than this seal).
Note: Fits Ford 711M "Uprated" and Cosworth BDA engines. Older "Cortina" engines (2737M, 691M), Lotus Twin Cam, and all non-crossflow engines were designed to use cork seals.
