The Infrared Split Transmitter from MyChron emits a different signal than the standard Optic Lap Transmitter (Part No. MC-001). Your MXL dash, EVO3 data logger, or MyChron Light TG lap timer can distinguish between the two signals. This allows you to measure and record separate segment or split times at various points around the track without changing the overall lap times triggered by the standard MC-001 Transmitter.
Example: Your new setup feels more stable, but is it costing you time in an important corner? Set up your Lap Transmitter at the start/finish line as you normally would, but also position a Split Transmitter at the entry to the corner and another Split Transmitter at the exit. Your dash will record your time through that corner while still recording and showing your full lap times. You can see the effect of set-up changes (or different lines) on any segment of the track!
This transmitter can run in "low power" mode (for tracks up to 30 feet wide) on 8 AA batteries. It also includes an external wiring harness for use with a larger external 12-volt battery such as our 12 Volt 7.2 AH Battery (Part No. 1124-002, sold separately). An external battery allows "high power" mode (for tracks up to 60 feet wide).
