Spade-Type Push-On Electrical Terminals
The familiar 1/4" (.250") spade terminal is extremely popular in automotive electrical systems. It is easily connected and disconnected, which makes repairs fast and easy. It is universal, so spares and replacements are easy to find (with no worries about brand compatibility). It is also much less expensive than many other connector types, which means having spares on hand won't cost a fortune. Its simplicity means that a loose connection can often be fixed by squeezing the female terminal with a pair of pliers.
We recommend fully-insulated female terminals whenever multiple male terminals are rigidly mounted close together (such as on terminal strips or our ATC-type fuse blocks). Fully-insulated female and fully-insulated male are recommended when multiple loose wires will be connected.
