A PTFE-lined rod end can be too stiff for use on a throttle cable, causing a sticky pedal or even premature wear on the cable. These special rod ends are made slightly loose so the cable can pivot freely on the pedal or carburetor linkage.
Standard right-hand 10-32 UNF female threads fit our standard Push-Pull Cables and Vernier Control Cables as well as our Custom-Made Throttle Cables. The ball is 5/16" wide, with a 0.19" bore to accept a #10 screw. Flats on the body accept a 5/16" wrench. This rod end will add 0.62" to the overall length of your throttle cable when screwed all the way in.
We also offer a similar 1/4-28 Female Throttle Cable Rod End (Part No. 1279) for cables with 1/4-28 stud ends. If your throttle cable has left-hand threads (turn left to tighten), you can use our Left-Hand 10-32 Female Throttle Cable Rod End (Part No. 1272). Note that none of our cables have left-hand threads.
