This ultra-programmable shift light lets you choose not only the RPM range to fire off, it even lets you choose the LED colors and the sequential pattern! Eight bright multi-color LEDs can sweep left to right or converging towards the center, in different color schemes. The pushbutton programming menu lets you change so quickly, you can use one pattern for daylight races and a different pattern for night racing. This version is pre-wired with an OBD-II plug for direct connection to many late-model production vehicles, with no additional wiring required.*
The compact housing measures just 75mm (3") Wide x 18mm (11/16") High x 29mm (1 3/16") Deep and is designed to mount to the top of your dashboard. The programming pushbutton is built into the back of the unit, so no other space is required on the dash panel. The OBD-II cable measures 1.5 meters (4.92 feet).
The new, more flexible programming menu lets you set the pulses per revolution and RPM levels numerically, or by the traditional Cartek half-RPM method (just run the engine at half the desired RPM and press the programming button). Either way, you set the beginning and top RPM and the Cartek Shift Light automatically calculates the steps in between. Full nstructions included.
* ECU compatibility: All OBD-II compliant ECUs using SAE J1850, ISO 9141-2, ISO 14230 (KWP 2000), or ISO 15765-4 (CAN) communication protocols. All vehicles marketed for sale in the US as of 1996 are required to use one of these protocols. Note that some small-volume builders and grey-market vehicles may be exempt from this requirement.
