NAS1097 Reduced Head Solid Aluminum Rivets
These 3/32 inch diameter flat head rivets have a very small head that allows flush installation even in thin materials. All that is necessary to create the countersink is a couple of turns with our Manual Deburring Tool (Part No. 6700) using a 100 Degree Countersink Bit (Part No. 6703). A Rivet Squeezer (Part No. 1189) can be used to set the rivet when installed near the edge of a panel. If the edge distance is too great, a rivet gun and bucking bar will be needed. These rivets, also known as shear rivets, are ideal for securing nut plates because of the undersized head. They should not be used as replacements for standard MS20426 countersunk rivets for structural applications. Sold in 1/10 pound packages which contain approximately 400-600 rivets depending upon the length.
