Thermostatic Oil Control, 180 F

Overly cooled oil robs an engine of power and can lead to increased wear and sludge formation. An oil thermostat allows the oil to bypass the cooler until proper temperature is reached.

This model has very large internal passages for very large flow capacity. It is available with a variety of different sizes of male fittings, so it can be used in just about any application without adapters. The thermostat opens at 180°F/82°C +/-10°F or +/-3°C. The body measures 4" wide x 2 1/4" thick (2 1/2" with the mounting bracket). Length is 2 1/2 to 2 3/4" less fittings (4 to 4 1/4" with fittings), depending on fitting size.

We also offer Oil Thermostats with Female NPT Ports (Part No. 1228-Size), which have slightly smaller internal passages but cost a bit less. You must add adapters with those thermostats.
