If you want to prevent the oil in your Chevy engine from ever bypassing the filter, this eliminator from Canton will do the trick.
The anodized aluminum plate bolts on the Chevrolet small-block (1968-2000) or big-block (1968-90) V8, replacing the stock filter mounting adapter. No modification is required to the block or the original adapter, so the operation is easily reversed if you ever decide to go back.
Note: Since this plate will send all of the oil through the filter under all conditions, it is critical that you use a filter which will allow thick, cold oil to flow in order to prevent spun bearings! Conventional paper-element filters will collapse under the pressure, leading to zero filtration or worse. A Canton Tall Spin-On Filter (Part No. 1284, sold separately) is highly recommended. Pre-heating the oil prior to startup is also recommended.
