Quit wrestling with conventional loose-jaw pullers! You know the drill: Hold the center mandrel on the shaft, set one jaw in place, put the second jaw on... and the mandrel slips off the shaft. Put the mandrel back, get the third jaw in place... and the first jaw drops off. Fiddle with the jaws, and the mandrel slips off again.
The 1517 Series self-centering pullers from Beta Tools solve that time-wasting headache! All three jaws are locked to a sprung centering ring. Push the ring down (or pull two jaws outwards) and all three jaws open simultaneously. Center the mandrel on the shaft of your workpiece, release the ring, and all three jaws close symmetrically. In just one step your puller is locked on and centered. And you now have both hands free to deal with the actual pulling operation!
The 1517/260 puller fits items from 50mm to 260mm OD (2" to 10 1/8" OD). The center threaded shaft can start as far as 180mm (7 1/16") from the jaws. Double-nut design lets you hold the puller stationary with a 30mm wrench while turning the center shaft with a 27mm wrench to exert up to 8000 kg (over 8 1/2 tons) of pulling force.
