The self-locking 1691BM Series metric tape measures from Beta Tools have an automatic brake for convenience. The spring-loaded steel tape will not retract until you push down on the thumb-operated release button on the front of the case. Let go of the button, and the tape stops retracting. The lightly padded black and Beta Orange plastic case houses a yellow steel tape.

This 5 meter long tape has markings in meters, centimeters, and millimeters (no SAE units). 25mm (1") wide tape. Precision Class II. Sold individually.
