Overly cooled oil robs an engine of power and can lead to increased wear and sludge formation. An oil thermostat allows the oil to bypass the cooler until proper temperature is reached.

This Oil Thermostat from Setrab is machined from solid billet for strength and reliability. The M22 x 1.5mm O-ring ports are easy to adapt to any oil system plumbing by adding the necessary Setrab M22 O-Ring Port Adapter Fittings (sold separately).

Note that unlike a water thermostat, oil thermostats are "open" when cold to allow the thick oil to bypass the cooler. The bypass closes when the desired temperature is reached, forcing the oil to go through the cooler. This model closes the bypass at 180°. F +/- 10° F (82° C +/- 3° C). Includes mounting bracket.
