You know that your turbo needs a constant supply of oil to the bearings. But did you know that exceeding the turbo manufacturer's recommended pressure can upset the critical balance of pressures inside your turbo? On the flip side, simply restricting oil to the turbo can starve the turbo when engine oil pressure is low. The compact ProOPR from Turbosmart is designed to limit the oil feed pressure at low boost and raise the pressure as turbine speeds increase.
The compact ProOPR is a dead-head style regulator (no return line needed) that uses turbo boost reference to adjust outlet pressure (minimum 18 psi) to suit turbo demands. No adjustment needed, and no more guessing at what size restrictor you need. The 6262 billet aluminum body incorporates an internal 44 Micron stainless steel filter to protect your turbo from trash. A single male 4AN (7/16-20, 37° convex flare) inlet fitting is on the bottom, and dual 1/8 NPT outlet ports make it easy to plumb twin turbos (simply plug one outlet for single turbo installations). A 1/8 NPT female port on the side provides a spot for your pressure gauge or gauge sender. The last 1/8 NPT port takes a hose from the pressure side of the turbo.
The HNBR seals are compatible with all known engine oils and can withstand temperatures of up to 150°C (300°F) for 30 minutes. Black anodized aluminum.
Note: The ProOPR is designed primarily for large turbos running high levels of boost, as in motorsports applications (e.g., Pro Mod drag racing).
