Many engine builders prefer to use platinum-tipped spark plugs in the Ford 2.0L SOHC Pinto engine. Unfortunately, most plug manufacturers only offer a standard plug for that application.
This plug offers a work-around for that dilemma. The 12mm thread is small enough that it can be adapted to the larger 18mm threads in the Pinto head. This requires a special reducer bushing which is not included. 11/16" hex. Plugs are sold individually.
NGK has replaced platinum with stronger iridium for this application, allowing even more durability and lower voltage requirements than before!
Note: This plug will not fit the Pinto head directly. It requires the addition of a special bushing, which is no longer available. Do not order this plug if you do not have the special bushings.
