Some racers think that tire valve stem caps just get in the way of taking tire pressures, but they are an important safety measure against the loss of tire pressure. The centrifugal forces of a spinning wheel actually try to open the tire valve when travelling at high speeds. And all it takes is one well-aimed rock to jam inside the stem and force the valve open, possibly even damaging the valve.
These metal valve stem caps can withstand the common minor impacts that break plastic caps. Our caps also feature a rubber sealing ring inside, which positively guarantees against pressure loss, even if the valve were to open or become loose. They fit any standard tire valve stem, including our Metal Tire Valve Stem, Part No. 3334 (sold separately).
Keep a spare set in your toolbox with your pressure gauge. If you lose one in a grassy paddock, you won't have to waste time searching for it!
