Covered Stainless Braided PTFE Brake and Clutch Hose, Black

This high-pressure hose has a smooth, extruded PTFE liner with a stainless steel wire braid cover. An additional black plastic outer cover* provides a clean appearance while helping to keep dust and grime out of the braid. Rated for use at -4°F to +185°F (-20°C to +85°C)*. Maximum operating pressure over 4,000 psi. Minimum burst pressure over 12,000 psi.

-3 size is the most common size for brake lines and oil pressure gauge lines. It is also popular for clutch lines.
-4 size is ideal for clutch lines. It is also used for brake lines where a lot of fluid is displaced (such as drum brake systems).
(Note: Only steel, stainless steel, or high pressure brass fittings should be used with brake lines. We recommend against aluminum fittings in brake systems.)

Note: You must strip the black outer covering back prior to installing your hose ends. The hose end collar must bear against the braid, not against the black covering.

* The temperature limiting factor is the outer covering. The PTFE liner and stainless outer braid are rated for -94°F to +500°F (-70°C to +260°C).
