If you work with metric hardware, chances are sooner or later you will need to drill and tap a metric hole. But metric drill bits can be hard to find -- so much so that many tap drill charts list the "nearest SAE size" drill bit! These metric drill bits from Beta Tools will do the job better and with less stress.

The 412 Series metric bits are "screw machine" length (5/8 the length of "jobber" bits) to minimize breakage due to flexing. This complete set of 49 bits covers metric sizes 1mm through 13mm in 0.25mm increments, and the bits are housed in a sturdy organizer case with the sizes clearly marked. Straight shank (shank OD matches drill size) High-Speed Steel (HSS) with a bright finish. HSS material is recommended for use on mild steel, aluminum, and other soft materials. The 118° point requires a center punch to prevent walking.
