Drift punches are typically used to align the holes in two parts so that a fastener can be inserted. As you insert the punch through the holes, a tapered portion pulls the holes into alignment with the aid of a hammer if necessary.

The Beta Tools 30BA series drift punches are constructed of non-sparking copper-beryllium (Cu-Be) for safe use in potenially explosive environments. A long, gentle taper for easy aligning while minimizing potential damage to the hole. The hex-shaped handle is easy to grip and resists rolling away.

This Cu-Be punch has a 10mm diameter nose that tapers up to 19mm diameter. Overall length 150mm. Sold individually.

Note: Copper-beryllium tools are not safe for use in contact with acetylene. Acetylene can react with the copper to form copper acetylide, a powerful and very dangerous explosive.
