Racers have relied on Facet electric fuel pumps for many years. Facet fuel pumps have low power requirements (about 1 amp at 12 volts) and operate without troublesome seals or diaphragms.
- The compact Cube Style pumps are designed for moderate fuel requirements, typically feeding engines up to about 150 horsepower.
- The Cylindrical pumps (formerly "Interrupter") can deliver up to 45 gallons per hour for higher volume requirements.
- The Dura-Lift pumps are specifically designed with high vertical lift capability for industrial applications such as refrigerated trucks.
- The Posi-Flo pumps have a polymer body for quieter operation than the Cube Style pumps.
Estimating Fuel Volume Requirements: At wide-open throttle, 4-stroke engines typically consume approximately 1 gallon per hour for every 10 horsepower. A 10 gph pump can feed a 100hp engine; a 30 gph pump is enough for a 300hp engine.
Fuel Pressure Regulators: Facet offers dozens of different models with a wide range of pressure ratings so you won't need a regulator. If you do use a regulator, we recommend choosing a pump capable of twice the target (regulated) pressure. A dead-head regulator is sufficient for most applications (no return line required).
