The 710 Series 3/8" drive impact sockets and accessories from Beta Tools feature cross-drilled holes at the drive ends to accept a locking pin. The locking pin doesn't transmit any torque (that's the job of the square drive), but it keeps sockets and extensions from rattling apart.

This long pin is designed specifically for the 22mm base OD on 710 Series sockets with 13mm through 21mm hexes, as well as all 710 Series drive accessories (710/16 adapter, 710/20 and 710/21 extensions, and 710/25 universal joint).
