The 1053 self-locking pliers from Beta Tools has a serrated straight upper jaw for traction and a hinged ("floating") platform on the lower jaw to conform to odd-shaped objects. A knurled thubscrew on one handle adjusts the jaw opening, and a lever on the other handle releases the jaws when squeezed. The jaws and handles have a chrome-plated finish. The adjuster and release lever both have a tough black oxide finish.
This size measures 240mm long overall (L), with 14mm wide jaws (S). Maximum jaw opening 35mm (A1). Maximum height when closed 72mm (A). Weighs 610g. (L = 9 1/2", S = 0.55", A1 = 1 3/8", A = 2.84", weight = 21.5 oz.) Sold individually.
