Adjusting corner weights without a setup platform presents a problem: Every time you make an adjustment, you introduce a sideways load on the tires which can cause inaccurate readings. But since the scale pads are higher than the floor, what can you do about it?
Roll-off pads like these allow you to roll your car off the scale pads between adjustments to eliminate that error-inducing side loading. The height of the platforms matches the height of any brand of scales with 15" square x 2.5" thick pads. (2.5" thickness has been the standard for several years; older systems may have 4" thick pads.) Simply place one in front of each scale pad and roll the car forward 15 inches to relieve the sideways loads. Zero the scales and roll the car back onto the scale pads for an accurate set of corner weights!
These economy platforms from Longacre have no provision for leveling the scale pads or turning the wheels. Their simplicity makes them easy to use, and their graduated sizes let you nest them for compact storage. Full set of 4 lightweight aluminum pads. Scale system sold separately.
Note: The photo shows the platforms with a protective manufacturing film still on them. Most users will remove the film before use.
