If you're going to the trouble of upgrading your differential or ring and pinion, why skimp and try to re-use the rusty old pinion flange? A new flange is cheap insurance, and when the new flange carries the Ford name, you know it will be up to the task!
This flange from Ford Racing fits the splined pinion shaft on any Ford 8.8" ring and pinion set. The "small" 3 1/2" bolt circle fits 1986 through 2004 V8 Mustangs with 8.8" rear ends (except 2003-04 Cobra with IRS). Includes a new pinion seal. Replaces OEM Ford part number E9SZ-4851-A. Sold individually (one required per car).
Note: 2003-04 Cobra IRS and 2005 and later Mustangs used a larger bolt pattern. This flange will still fit the pinion, but your original U-joint flange will not bolt up to it.
