These precision gaskets are designed specifically for the original steel side covers on 1950s/60s/70s BMC engines. The high-temperature silicone construction allows the gasket to crush -- without extruding outwards -- much more than stock cork gaskets for better sealing.
Simply clean your side cover, spread a thin bead of RTV sealant around the flange to hold the gasket in place, and install the gasket. Bolt down your cover and you're ready to go! When it's time to remove the cover, the gasket will stay with the valve cover. The gasket is reusable indefinitely, which means it could be the last side cover gasket you will ever buy! Sold in pairs (each set is enough for one engine).
