The familiar red Loctite® Threadlocker 262™ studlocker is now available in a convenient solid stick form! No more squeeze bottles to leak all over your toolbox. Just extend the stick a little and apply the waxy compound to the threads. You can even apply it in advance and assemble the parts later.
This very high strength compound is great for problem fasteners that don't seem to want to stay tight. Red Threadlocker is recommended for locking studs and high strength bolts or large bolts over 1 inch diameter. Removal can be difficult and may require heating the fastener to break down the compound and allow removal without breakage. Temperature limits -65°F to 300°F (-54°C to 150°C). 0.67 ounce (19g) stick.
For best results, pre-treat the threads with Loctite 7649 Primer N Surface Activator (Part No. LT-37509. This treatment allows the threadlocker to adhere to "inactive" materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, magnesium, titanium, black oxide, zinc plating, and cadmium plating -- which is just about everything racecars are made of!
