Our original Nutsert Placing Tools (Part No. 659) are light-duty tools designed for occasional use and field repairs. If you plan to install several 10-32 Rivet Nuts, or more than a few dozen Insert Nuts, this tool will make the job considerably easier. Just set the stroke to match the insert depth, thread the insert onto the mandrel, place the insert in the hole, and squeeze the handles together. Once the insert is installed, spin the center knob to unscrew the mandrel from the insert.
Note 1: Requires the appropriate Lever Tool Conversion Kit (Part No. 1185-104, sold separately) to match the inserts you will be installing. The interchangeable nose design allows you to convert the tool to whatever thread size you need. Noses are sold separately so you only have to buy the size(s) you will really use!
Note 2: This is a new version of our old Part No. 1185-002, which took a different Conversion Kit (Part No. 1185-102). If you are replacing an older tool (prior to 05/2021), you will also need to order the new-style conversion kit.
