This Titan Dry Sump Pump is the standard Formula Ford pump which mounts in the standard location on the side of the block and is driven by the camshaft through a scroll gear.
We stock the version with a 1 1/8 inch wide scavenge rotor and 5/8 inch pressure rotor. Dyno tests show that the combination of a larger scavenge and smaller pressure stage results in a power advantage due to better ring sealing. The scavenge inlet is designed for a clip-retained 3/4 inch diameter inlet pipe (sold separately). The other four ports have female 1/2 BSP threads.
The Scavenge Pipe (Part No. 167-42) and BSP Adapter Fittings are sold separately.
1. Disassemble and inspect the pump for cleanliness prior to installation. Top pro builders also double-check clearances (even on brand-new pumps like this one).
2. When reassembling, smear a little grease or assembly lube such as Red Line Assembly Lube, (Part No. 3349, sold separately) to the rotors to aid in priming.
3. These pumps do not use any gaskets between the various parts. Instead, apply a very small amount of sealant such as Loctite 598 Black RTV (Part No. LT-37467, sold separately) to the mating surfaces. Be sure not to let any excess get inside the pump.
