Brand: AIM Sports
With ECUs becoming ever more common in racing vehicles, AiM has focused heavily on making sure their dashes and loggers can decode the data streams -- sometimes to the point of not even providing an RPM input. If you're trying to install an RPM-less unit in an ECU-less vehicle, the RPM-CAN Converter can make it happen.
The Converter can be connected either to the low voltage side of an ignition coil (150-400V) or to a square-wave RPM signal from an ECU or ignition module (5 to 50V signal). It will automatically convert the RPM signal into a CAN signal that all current AiM systems can understand. It can even be used with other CAN-enabled brands, as long as you are able to program the system protocol.
One end of the Converter has four unterminated wires: CAN high (white), CAN low (blue), +Vb 9-15V (red), and Ground (black). The other end has a single RPM signal wire (white). Requires 9 to 15 Volt DC power supply.
