When using a side mounted oil pump on the Ford 1600 engine, the tach is often driven from the front of the cam by mounting a tach drive gearbox on the front timing chain cover. The drawback to this method is that even a small misalignment in the tach drive gearbox will cause it to fail in a very short time. An easy way around this problem is to mount the tach drive directly on the oil pump.
This outer cover is specially designed to mount a Titan tach drive gearbox (not included).
Requires the drive gearbox, Extended Oil Pump Shaft for Tach Drive (Part No. 167-11-Tach), and Oil Pump Tach Drive Seal (Part No. 167-21-Seal), all sold separately.
