These simple Axle Savers prevent rear axles from flailing violently due to a rubber drive donut failure. Works with any 3.78" bolt circle stub axle and requires no modifications. Adds 1/4" to the halfshaft length.*
Axle Savers are easy to install. Simply unbolt the donut from one drive flange and install one plate between the donut and the drive flange. Repeat with the mating plate on the other side of the donut, connecting the ball-and-socket joint in the middle. Grease the center joint for best results. One set includes 4 plates, enough for 2 donuts (enough to complete both sides of a vehicle).
* Some customers have reported that standard donuts (without the metal interleaf plates) have enough flex that the extra length is not an issue. Most others have compensated by using the adjustment range on their suspension links to widen the rear track.
