Brand: FireBottle Fire Systems

SCCA now requires an SFI- or FIA-approved fire system in any car registered after 01/01/2009. This system carries SFI 17.1 approval. It is also SCCA-legal in all older cars.

FE-36™ is the clean replacement for Halon. It has zero ozone depletion potential and performs comparably to Halon 1211, but with lower toxicity. The new Automatic / Manual FireBottle brand fire suppression systems can be activated manually by a remote pull cable, or automatically with the help of a 155 degree thermal head. When the temperature in the cockpit exceeds 155°F the system automatically triggers, dispensing all 5 pounds of extinguishant.

Kit contains a charged aluminum cylinder measuring 17.25" long by 4" diameter, one pull cable, mounting bracket and 5 foot flame-resistant, flexible, stainless steel reinforced line with a 155°F thermal head. Includes 2 discharge nozzles,T-fitting, and 8 feet of aluminum tubing. Total weight is approximately 10 lbs.

Note: (H) = Hazardous. All pressurized fire suppression systems are considered Hazardous by UPS and other shippers. A hazardous shipping charge of $28.50 (ground shipping) or $40.00 (air shipping) will apply.

Comments about (H) 5lb Automatic/Manual FE-36 Fire Suppression System:

Machined our own mounting bracket. Included bracket will probably work OK for most enclosed cars. Open wheel cars will need to devise their own mounting. Other than that, everything else we needed was included and cables/lines where long enough. We mounted the bottle above the tail tank on a sprint car. Am happy and bought a second unit for another sprint car.
