These stainless steel adapters make it easy to connect your male AN fitting to a female NPT port. Each adapter has a female nut with a 37° AN sealing flare at one end, and a male NPT fitting at the other.
The two-piece design allows the female AN nut to turn independently of the rest of the fitting to avoid flare damage. This also lets you tighten the NPT fitting without spinning your male AN fitting.* AN-style fitting conforms to SAE/JIC specifications. Stainless steel construction is ideal for use in brake plumbing and other high-pressure systems. Sold individually.
* Note: To turn the NPT side, first loosen the AN side enough to prevent the sealing flares from contacting each other. Failure to do so will damage the sealing surfaces of this adapter and your AN fitting.
NPT nomenclature can be confusing! The nominal size refers to the inside diameter of the pipe, not the outside diameter of the threads. If you are not sure what size you need, check in our Threaded Plumbing Fitting Identification Guide.
NPT fittings can also cause concern because of the way they fit together. The threads are tapered to seal by an interference fit, which means that a properly-sized NPT fitting should never bottom out in the port. The male fitting should "jam" when screwed about halfway in.
