The Staubli SPT series dry disconnect fittings are ideal for fuel lines. The perfluoroelastomer (JKV) seals are compatible with virtually every racing fuel, from alcohol to nitromethane to unleaded gasoline. The SPT 05 series sockets include a safety break-away lanyard, making it a perfect choice for motorcycles or other applications where the fuel line could separate in an incident. The SPT 05 Series flows 2 gallons per minute*. Maximum pressure 170 psi.
*With 6AN fittings using a standard 13.4 cSt hydraulic oil at 40° C (for comparison, gasoline has a viscosity between 0.4 and 0.8 cSt).
Either of these plugs will mate to a Staubli SPT 05 Safety Break-Away Socket (Part No. 4700-050, sold separately) with either 4AN or 6AN male fittings.
FIA-Approved fuel sample connectors: The SPT05 plugs (Part No. 4700-075-04-Red and 4700-075-06-Red) are FIA approved fuel sample connectors per FIA Technical List 5. A connector from FIA Technnical List 5 is required in FIA Rallies, GT Cars, F3, and F3000. (Note that if you are racing in a non-FIA event, you will need to have the mating SPT 05 Socket with you in impound. FIA tech inspectors will already have the socket in their toolkit.)
