This is the same jam nut included with the Tilton 7/16-20 Brake Bias Bar (Part No. TE 72-260). It will also work on most other brands with 7/16-20 threads.*
This special plated steel jam nut is intended to prevent accidental changes to the bias setting on the Tilton 7/16-20 brake balance bar. Simply set your bias bar and screw this nut onto the bar, tightening it against the pushrod clevis barrel nut. (The rounded end should bear against the barrel nut.) This nut is threaded all the way through, so it can be installed from either end of the bar.
Sold individually, one required per bar but two can be used for extra security. This nut is not used when a remote adjuster cable is used.
* Note: The "standard" bias bar for many years had a smaller 3/8-24 thread size, so be sure to check your bar before ordering. This nut fits the 7/16-20 balance bars currently used on Tilton pedal assemblies.
