This Splined Quick-Release Steering Wheel Hub has no pins or knobs to fumble with as with other types on the market. Simply squeeze the spring-loaded sleeve against the back of the hub to release the locking balls. The hub is tapped for three 5/16-24 bolts (included) on a 1.75" bolt circle for attaching the steering wheel. The hub portion is machined from lightweight aluminum, black anodized with a silver anodized release collar.
The steel inner slug uses multiple splines to provide a solid, precise fit that is very resistant to loosening under racing conditions. The smooth bore is designed to be welded to your steering shaft. (It is not designed to be a "bolt-on" for any OEM splined shaft.) The stepped inner bore allows it to fit either a 5/8" or 3/4" OD steering shaft without any machining or adding a bushing.
The hub has two extra sets of holes drilled and tapped to allow you to fine-tune the steering wheel angle after installation. A unique secondary safety groove in the slug gives the hub a chance to "catch" in the event the hub is not securely seated. Note: Although it is the same high-quality part as the SFI-approved version, this version does not carry SFI certification.
