Thread cleaning (chasing) taps are the proper way to clean and dress female threads. Instead of cutting new threads, these special tools are designed to remove foreign matter and to straighten the existing threads if necessary.

This 5-piece set contains thread cleaning taps to fit the following SAE (UNC) female coarse-threaded holes: 1/4-20, 5/16-18, 3/8-18, 7/16-14, 1/2-13.
