If your cooling system has ever lost its coolant, you know that your temperature gauge or temperature warning light won't tell you when it happens. The temperature gauge may even show cooler temperatures as the remaining coolant evaporates from the sensor. This all-inclusive kit from the cooling experts at Davies Craig gives you a clear visual and audible signal if your coolant level drops.
The kit consists of an inline adapter with a built-in probe and an alarm module. Mount the adapter in your top radiator hose, mount the alarm module to the dashboard, and connect the two. Once the system is refilled, the buzzer will sound and the red LED will come on within 20-30 seconds of detecting a drop in coolant level. An external output even lets you trigger a fan or a bigger alarm, or even cut power to the ignition or fuel pumps (requires a 5-pin change-over relay, available separately).
The adapter is designed to fit 35mm (1 3/8") ID hose, and the included 3mm sleeves adapt it to fit 38mm (1 1/2") hose. Works on 12V or 24V electrical systems (positive or negative ground). Includes inline sensor / adapter assembly, adapter sleeves, alarm module, wiring harnesses, hook-and-loop mounting tape, and hose clamps.
