The Pertronix "Flame-Thrower" ignition coil is perfect for most 12 volt 4 and 6 cylinder applications running conventional breaker points or Pertronix Ignitor* ignitions. Many mysterious ignition problems are eventually traced to a defective coil, so it's cheap insurance to carry a spare.
This coil has 3 Ohms internal resistance, so a ballast resistor is not required. The extra-high 40,000 volt maximum output rating allows you to run wider spark plug gaps than standard (up to 0.040") for more complete combustion. The epoxy filling supports the coil windings more securely than oil, so this coil can be mounted in any orientation, even upside-down. This coil is an ideal replacement for the discontinued Bosch "Blue" coil.
For use with breaker points or Pertronix Ignitor (black module) or similar. Not for use with Ignitor II* (red) or Ignitor III.
