High-Performance Ignition Coils
Many mysterious ignition problems are eventually traced to a failing coil. A spare, high-quality ignition coil is cheap insurance. The Bosch and Lucas coils do not require ballast resistors. The Bosch coil is good up to about 7500RPM on a 4-cylinder engine. The Blaster 2 coil is optimized for use with MSD ignition systems. The Pertronix Flame-Thrower II is specifically for use with Pertronix Ignitor II systems.
