Unlike standard Setrab Pro-Line coolers, this Setrab 3-pass cooler has divided end tanks that send the oil through one-third of the cooling rows, then back through the next third, then back again through the last third of the rows. Applications with low flow rates below about 3 GPH (such as gearboxes, differentials, and some motorcycle engines) often benefit from the use of a multi-pass cooler.

Just like other Setrab coolers, a tough black epoxy finish protects against corrosion and looks great. This 6-series cooler measures 13" long (11 1/8" not including mounting tabs) x 1 7/8" thick. This 50 row size measures 15 3/16" tall (not including the hexes on the port fittings). The female M22x1.5 ports are located on opposite corners (one on the top of one end tank, the other on the bottom of the other end tank).

Note that the effective number of rows on this cooler is one-third the actual number of rows, and that the effective length of the rows is three times the actual length. Both of these factors increase pressure drop compared to the equivalent standard Setrab ProLine cooler.

Note: All oil coolers are relatively fragile. Care must be taken to avoid stressing the fittings when tightening connections (always use a backup wrench on the cooler fitting). The cooler should be mounted in a manner that will minimize vibration.
