This is one version of the primary wiring harness supplied with the first-generation AiM MXS Strada and MXG Strada street dashes. This harness plugs into the 14-pin AMP connector on the back of the dash to provide connections for power, ground, USB, a CAN expansion, a 2-wire ECU connection via CAN or RS232 wiring, and an RPM signal input.
This version is normally used on vehicles without a usable OBD-II data stream. If you have a racing ECU (or production ECU without a usable OBDII stream), the ECU connection will require splicing two wires into your ECU wiring harness. If you have no ECU, or an older ECU which does not have a CAN data output, the RPM input can connect to any standard RPM signal output.
Sold individually. Dash sold separately.
Note: For AiM MX-Series Strada dash displays only. Not for any other AiM dash (including MXL Strada, MXS 1.2 Strada, MXG 1.2 Strada, MXP Strada, or any MX-Series data logging dashes). This black plug version fits the first generation only. The 1.2 / 1.3 generation MX-series Strada use a different light grey plug.
First-Gen vs 1.2: The "1.2" generation added a round 5-pin port between and below the two rectangular plugs on the back of the dash. The first generation only has the two rectangular plugs.
