The Kompact EM blow off valve (BOV) range from Turbosmart is a line of compact, heavy-duty replacements for factory ECU-controlled diverter valves. Kompact EM valves are now available as bolt-on fitments for dozens of OEM applications ranging from Alfa Romeo to VW.
The VR7 style is designed to fit directly in place of the OEM diverter valve on 2013-22 GM performance vehicles with the Gen 3 EcoTec 2.0L LTG turbo gasoline engine (Cadillac ATS, Chevrolet Camaro & Malibu, Buick Regal, Holden Commodore). Simply unplug the factory diverter valve wiring harness and remove the 3 bolts holding it in place, then bolt on the Kompact valve and plug the EM lead into the factory harness. That's it! There's no programming, no adjustment, no learning steps, and no fine-tuning.
This Plumb-Back (recirculating) version returns excess charge air into the intake system for quieter operation than vent-to-atmosphere types. (This is why most OEM diverter valves are the recirculating type.) The robust aluminum construction will hold more boost pressure than most OEM diverter valves are designed for, but it will not confuse your ECU or interfere with any of its factory-programmed strategies.
Note 1: Despite the recirculating design, you should expect the Kompact EM BOV to be somewhat louder than the stock diverter valve.
