Replace the points and condenser in your Bosch 1600 Kent distributor with the solid state reliability and precision of an electronic ignition. The Pertronix system mounts entirely inside the distributor, replacing the points and condenser. The Ignitor is a simple, bolt-on conversion that can be done in less time than it takes to install a new set of points and a condensor -- and it can be quickly converted back to points at the track. (Note that Bosch no longer makes breaker points for the 1600 Kent engine. This conversion kit is the best way to get your Bosch distributor running again.)
This module fits the Ford 1600 Kent engine with counter-clockwise rotation Bosch distributor. Legal for SCCA Formula Ford. 12 volt, negative ground only.
Note 1: Some Ford 1600 engines have been retrofitted with a Bosch distributor of a slightly different design. These non-standard distributors may require slight modifications to fit the Pertronix module, but the installation is still reversible.
Note 2: On some Bosch distributors, the fit of the magnet sleeve to the distributor shaft is so tight that you may not be able to fully seat it by hand. If you can't get your rotor back on all the way, use a socket to push the magnet sleeve down until it seats.
