This 1st/Reverse hub is installed on the pinion shaft of 5-speed Hewland or Webster Mk8 or Mk9 gearboxes. Hewland part number HC85-226HB. Works with Hewland 1st/Reverse Slider for Mk 8 / Mk 9 Gearboxes (Part No. 1410-A41/54H, sold separately).
Note: This "HB" version hub is 0.118" shorter than the original hub design. This change was made to compensate for the thicker "late style" pinion shaft front bearing (ring nut style) sourced by Hewland beginning in 1997 (Hewland HC8-222-1HB). If you have any bearing other than this late style (older ring nut bearing, 4-bolt plate bearing, or our current ring nut bearing), you will need to add a spacer (1.375" ID x 2" OD x 0.118" thick) in front of this hub.
