This heavy-duty shaft from ARP is machined from high-strength chrome moly steel and heat-treated to 220,000 psi tensile strength. The drive hex is CNC machined (not broached) for added precision, and the retaining washer is already installed. The OD is also larger than stock to handle the added stresses of driving a high-volume pump or heavier viscosity oil. For use with wet sump oil pumps on Ford 289-302 small block and Boss 302 engines.
