(HAO) Dykem Cross Check Torque Seal Marker, 1 oz Tube

Also known as Anti-Sabotage Lacquer, Cross Check is an easy and inexpensive way to detect loosening due to vibration and tampering. Apply it to fasteners and fittings after tightening to proper torque. The opaque lacquer dries in about an hour, leaving a highly visible but brittle mark which will crack at the first sign of loosening.

Use Cross Check on plumbing fittings, studs, jam nuts -- any assembly where regularly checking the torque or proper positioning is difficult or impractical. You can even use it to detect relative motion between two press-fit or clamped parts. Each color is visible in daylight and also glows under UV light.

Excellent adhesion to all clean, dry metals and most other surfaces. Cured lacquer withstands up to 400° F. Meets Boeing spec MBS8-45 (Rev G, 15-May-2016, Type II).

For best results, occasionally knead the contents of the tube to prevent separation of the solvent from the pigment. Drying time and adhesion will be adversely affected if used on oily surfaces. Adhesion to plated steel, stainless steel, and unfinished aluminum parts can be improved by preparing the surface with Loctite 7649 Primer N Surface Activator (Part No. LT-37509, sold separately).

Note: Drying time may vary due to film thickness and environmental factors. As with any chemical, always test for compatibility before use on plastics and composites. The mark may darken when exposed to heat, but will still remain visible and brittle. Due to the nature of fluorescent pigments, the colors are not lightfast and will eventually fade with UV exposure.
