Brand: Aurora Bearing Company
These economical yet high precision bearings are for moderately stressed joints. The ball is heat treated and hard chrome plated alloy steel, with a steel race. The low carbon steel body limits the load rating to substantially less than our High Strength Alloy Steel Metric Rod Ends (Part No. 3067). They are recommended for lower stressed or non-critical uses only.* Male metric threaded solid shanks only. Typical male rod end shown in photo. Aurora MMF-M (right hand threads) and MBF-M (left hand threads) series.
Note: These rod ends are not self-lubricating. They do not have a PTFE lining, so you must lubricate them periodically to prevent wear and galling.** A flush-type grease fitting (Zerk) is installed near the base of the head for this purpose.
Metric Jam Nuts (Part No. MAJM-Size) are sold separately.

* The grease fitting reduces the static load rating by approximately 10% compared to the standard MM-M(T) series. Note that this also reduces the fatigue life. They are not recommended for use on racing vehicles.
** We also offer Aurora PTFE-Lined Carbon Steel Metric Rod Ends (Part No. AB-MMMT), which do not require lubrication. The PTFE-lined version is more suited to racing applications.
