The GP-I helmet from OMP is the modern evolution of traditional open face helmet design, built for racers who choose the enhanced visibility and feel of an open face helmet. Instead of a face shield, this iconic helmet features an adjustable peak visor with an anti-glare strip. The GP-I cannot be made to take a face shield, so it is recommended primarily for closed-cockpit vehicles (although it is popular in vintage racing with goggles).

The GP-I is ready to accept your head restraint anchors, with industry-standard M6 female threaded inserts factory-installed in the shell (anchors sold separately). Available in gloss White (WHT) or Matte Black (MBK). Snell SA2025 approved.

SA2025 is the latest Snell Foundation rating for automotive racing helmets. This helmet rating has been developed to provide the best safety protection for auto racing drivers who are restrained in their vehicles. SA2025 helmets are tested for flame retardance, and additional tests ensure that the factory-installed M6 threaded inserts can handle loads from an FHR. An SA-rated helmet may not meet DOT specifications for street use, such as on motorcycles.

SIZING: Helmets should fit as snug as possible without causing discomfort. Measure head circumference around the largest part of the head approximately one inch above the eyebrows and just above the ears. If a one or two layer Nomex hood will be worn with the helmet, it should be worn when measuring head circumference. If a hood is not available, add about 1/4 inch to the circumference measurement for a single layer hood and 1/2 inch for a double layer hood.
