This is a heavy-duty version of the stock clutch disc for the Ford 1600 Kent engine, as used on the Cortina, British Escort, and some other RWD cars.* Many Formula Fords still use a stock-type clutch, particularly in series that use a standing start. The sprung hub and marcel make this type of clutch much easier to modulate than most racing clutches.
This high-quality aftermarket disc is designed to be dimensionally identical to the original, but the high-temperature friction material lasts longer in FF1600 racing. The springs are also stronger than the original, which makes this disc capable of handling up to 180 HP. It is perfectly suitable for street use too.
