The Davies Craig Thermatic Fan Controllers use a thin probe that is designed to be installed between the fins in your radiator. This simple adapter kit from Davies Craig lets you install the probe in a radiator hose for direct reading of coolant temperature instead.
A special compression fitting adds 1/4 NPT male threads to the thermal probe. An in-line adapter slips into your 30mm to 35mm (1 3/16" to 1 3/8") ID coolant hose to accept the compression fitting. Use the included rubber sleeves to fit 38mm to 47mm (1 1/2" to 1 13/16") ID hose.
Kit includes compression fitting to 1/4 NPT adapter, 5mm ID olive (for Davies Craig Digital controllers), 6mm ID olive (for Davies Craig Mechanical controllers), fiber-reinforced composite inline fitting, 3mm adapter sleeves, and two hose clamps.
Designed for use with Davies Craig mechanical Thermatic switches 0401 (Pegasus Part No. 1591-010) / 0404, and Davies Craig Digital Thermatic switches 0444, 0455, and 0500 (Pegasus Part Nos. DC0444, DC0455, and DC0500). Thermatic switches are available separately.
Note: Because the thermal probe is permanently connected to the wiring harness in most Thermatic switch kits, you must screw the compression fitting into the inline adapter first, then install the probe into the compression fitting. Reversing the steps can break the probe wire, destroying the wiring harness.
