This front crankshaft seal fits early Ford 1600 Kent engines. It will work with either the stock pulley or our toothed belt pulley. Sold individually.
This early "wide" style lip seal (replaces Ford part numbers 701M-9700-A1A and D1FZ-6700-B) was designed to fit the early (non-Uprated) front cover, which has a smooth bore with no retaining flange behind the seal. OD is 2.063", ID is 1.438 and width is .482". Apply a dab of grease around the inside of the lip before installing your pulley. This is critical to avoid burning or tearing the seal rubber on start-up.
How do I know which front cover I have?
Look at your front cover and locate the boss next to the timing marks. On the earlier 681F-6059-A-A cover, this boss will have a dipstick tube (or a plug) in a hole drilled through it. On the later-style 731M-6059-AA front cover, this boss was normally left undrilled.
